WATER STORING SYSTEMS AND SCHOOL BUILDING
This july we are traveling to Santa Maria Cahabon, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala and building two water storage systems in two different villages, as well as, building one school for one of the villages. The village of San Pedro Marichaj and Chipajche have no running water and no electricity. The people and children in the villages have to travel to a natural spring to fill buckets and bring them home. The water use is then a limited resource for the families. Water is the most basic natural resource and we take it for granted frequently. Having access to purified water allows for better hygiene, nutrition and quality of life. MVA will also rebuild the school house in San Pedro Marichaj, which is currently built out of metal sheets, it has no windows and the heat inside makes it difficult of the students to take classes. In addition, this particular school house has dirt floors creating bad hygenic conditions for the children.
We are asking for monetary donations to cover transportation of the materials from the city to Santa Maria Cahabon to the villages, as well as covering the costs of the water systems and building materials. Part of the mission this time will focus on conferences given to the high school students in Santa Maria Cahabon, on education, motivation, determination habits and finance. MVA believes that education is the key to combating poverty and building a strong foundation for a better future.
We ask all our followers, friends and family to support us by spreading the news and sharing our donating link. We are excited to keep on serving. We are also grateful to all friends, family and volunteers who will join us this July!
